Amelia High School-Great Oaks business students attend state and national competitions

Thirty members of the Great Oaks/Amelia High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter attended state competition in Columbus, and twenty went on to the National Leadership Conference in Boston in May.
At the national conference, students participated in leadership and competitive events in various business areas including; finance, marketing, economics, entrepreneurship, fair trade and technology.  In addition, several students qualified for additional national only events within the stock market game as well as virtual business competitions and national scholarships.
The chapter was recognized for community service and leadership activities throughout the year by receiving the Chapter Award of Excellence, Quality Chapter, Special Olympics, Safety Awareness, and Marketing and Publication awards.
Students taking technical competitions also completed the certification testing for Microsoft software to gain industry recognition. The students also had time to network with members from 27 states and develop increased professional skills while attending seminars and conference volunteer activities along with sightseeing in Boston.
The Great Oaks/Amelia High School BPA chapter is a part of the Business Management program offered through Great Oaks Career Campuses at Amelia High School.
