About me:
I have 22 years in the medical field beginning in 1998,  starting as a file clerk, then moving on to electronic claims and coding. In 2004, I opened a practice management company managing 19 practices in a 3 state area. I managed credentialing, HIPAA compliancy/forms, billing and coding as well as their accounts receivable and contract negotiations with insurance carriers. I've had my CMRS certification since 2004 as well as having a Medical Administrative Assisting associate's degree.

I have taught staff how to use various practice management systems and have given presentations at national conferences. I have taught for the Great Oaks since 2009. I started teaching at Live Oaks on a part time basis in 2009 for the Insurance Billing course.

I love watching my students learn and grow. It is especially exciting for me when a graduate of the program contacts me with promotions and other opportunities they are given. I really love it when I'm contacted and I learn about students going from living with relatives or renting to hearing details about a new home they are purchasing.
