About me:
I am currently serving as a Fire Safety Services Supervisor for the Great Oaks Career Campuses; my primary role is that of commander of the Fire Academy functions. I oversee Fire, EMS, Rescue, and Industrial Training, including continuing education.

After 28 years of active service, I retired from Liberty Township Fire Department as a Lieutenant. Prior to my time at Liberty Township, I was a Captain with the Woodlawn Fire Department and served as a firefighter in the United States Air Force assigned to a rescue crew. I have also worked for Miami Township (Clermont County), Springdale, Lockland, and Reading. I am still active as a volunteer Captain with a local fire department.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Education in addition to an associate degree in Fire Science. In 2016 I was named to the Ohio Fire Service Hall of Fame as the Ohio Fire Instructor of the Year. I am one of four Chief Training Officers in the State of Ohio and 147 worldwide as designated by the Center for Public Safety Excellence.

I am also elected to serve on the Pro Board Committee on Accreditation and have served on numerous committees for NFPA standards, Ohio Fire and EMS education.

I enjoy when a class graduates after a lot of hard work to start their careers in the best profession in the world! Every day is something new.

The best part of the academy is that we bring in more than 70 different instructors to teach different topics at different times. A student gets to hear from a wide variety of active fire and EMS staff.
